Hike to the Lambertsmühle
The Lambertsmühle is the only watermill in the region that was reopened for exhibition purposes in 2002. The Lambertsmühle is located in the wooded Wiehbachtal. It is an ensemble that includes a stable, a coach house, a barn and a cottage garden in addition to the mill building and has been a listed building since 1983. The historic mill is located on the Landscheid hiking trail, which can be discovered on a guided hike as part of our Lambertsmühlen arrangement. www.lambertsmühle-burscheid.de

Schloss Burg
Schloss Burg is a hilltop castle reconstructed from the late 19th century in the Solingen district of Burg an der Wupper and in the 16th century was the ancestral seat of Count von Berg, who gave the Bergisches Land its name. It is one of the largest castles in West Germany, now houses a museum and is one of the most popular and most visited cultural sites in the Rhineland. A visit is also worthwhile for people who are not interested in medieval castles, e.g. to enjoy a wonderful view of the Bergisches Land from the adjacent cable car.

The Altenberg Cathedral has been in the municipality of Odenthal since the 13th century. And the impressive Gothic-style building still holds a record today: the west window, dating from around 1400 and containing a picture of the heavenly Jerusalem, is the largest church window north of the Alps.The cathedral, used equally by Catholic and Protestant believers, has now established itself as a center for sacred music. Over a hundred concerts attract numerous visitors every year. Inside the church, those interested in history can learn a lot about the Bergisch noble families of dukes and counts as well as about the long history of the monastery from the numerous high graves and tombstones of secular and spiritual princes.

From March 16 to November 3, 2019, the "Bergische FahrradBus" will be on its way between Leverkusen-Opladen and Marienheide along the Balkantrasse panorama cycle path and the Bergisch Pranorama cycle path. These cycle paths are part of a more than 300 km long network of routes between the Ruhr, Rhine and Sieg, a large part of which leads over former railway lines through the north of the Rheinisch-Bergisch and Oberbergisch districts.

The bridge is a tourist magnet at any time of the year and is particularly well-known among railway fans all over the world. The bridge park is a project of the Regionale 2006, an amalgamation of the Bergisch city triangle Remscheid, Solingen and Wuppertal. The parking spaces at that time were banned from the gates of the new park, in the newly designed bank and floodplain zone, sections sloping towards the water alternate with small cliffs, meadows for picnicking and playing with wild meadows and areas of refuge for the animal world.
